Designed by the architect, William Graham Mcivor in 1847, the Garden hosts the annual flower show which is greatly admired by the tourists for its magical aura. The famed 2-3 day long show is being organized since last 121 years with more than 200 varieties of blooming plants including balsams, zinnias, verbenas, petunias, salvias and French lilies.

Discover the largest collection of blooming roses in Ooty’s well known Rose Garden that houses more than 20000 varieties of roses. Get drenched as you step into the meticulously maintained garden, situated at an altitude of 2200 meters and spanning over 10 acres of land along the slopes of the Elk Hills.
The elegant garden spellbound with its authentic fragrance has been honored with the Garden of Excellence Award by the World Federation of Rose Societies in 2006. Established to commemorate the Centenary Flower Festival in 1955, it features varied flowers including miniature roses, hybrid tea roses, yakimour, polyanthas, ramblers, and floribunda.
The garden has been marvelously laid over five terraces and the major attractions have been the arches, bowers, rose tunnels, pergolas, and umbrellas.
THREAD GARDEN
Thread Garden, an astounding artificial plant kingdom was created by Antony Joseph along with his team of 50 trained workers. Using the technique of Four-Dimensional hand wound Embroidery the garden of artificial plants and flowers marks the confluence of innovation and artistic skills.
It took 12 years for the weaving enthusiast and his team to establish the entire garden which is completely hand woven with no use of machinery or needles. The wholesome beauty of the place sprinkled with the stupendously woven 150 variety of flowers is said to have been made with approximately 6 crores meters of embroidery.
The group has painstakingly worked with extraordinary endurance in creating artificial flowers and plants trying to make it as real as possible. More than 400 different color shades and plain natural colored embroidery thread, canvas and wire had been used in the making of this inexplicably mystical garden.
